Impact and Success Stories
Back to School Campaign
As part of our ongoing ‘Back to School’ campaign, we recently visited Watling Park Primary School and All Saints C of E Primary School, where we were delighted to meet their fantastic Year 6 pupils and deliver our ‘Back to School’ packs designed to prepare the students for their exciting transition to secondary school.
Each pack included calculators, geometry sets, water bottles, notepads, pencils, and so much more! Everything they’ll need to feel ready and confident for the journey ahead. The children were the best part of the visit, polite, appreciative, and thrilled to explore their new supplies, and it was wonderful to see their excitement grow as they look forward to their next chapter.
We even had a special guest join us at Watling Park – Barnie, who brought extra smiles to the day!
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated and supported this campaign so far. With your help, we are equipping Barnet’s young people with the tools and confidence they need for a positive start to secondary school.
Our ‘Back to School’ campaign runs until the end of August, and we hope to reach even more children before the new term begins.

East Barnet Festival Sunday 6th July 2025
We had a wonderful time at this year’s East Barnet Festival; a real celebration of community, connection, and summer fun despite the brief downpour!
Our colourful stall stood proudly among the many local groups and businesses, and our ‘Everyone’s a Winner’ Tombola brought plenty of smiles as well as a little friendly competition! It was lovely to see people of all ages taking part, chatting with us, and learning more about the work we do in our community.
As well as raising almost £200 for our Space2Grow fund, the day gave us a brilliant opportunity to make new connections, have meaningful conversations, and share stories about the impact of our work and yours! There was lots of laughter, great energy, and a real sense of togetherness throughout the event.
A huge thank you goes to our fantastic volunteers and trustees who gave up their time to help on the day. Your enthusiasm, warmth and dedication made all the difference, and we’re so grateful to have you on our team.
And of course, hats off to the organisers of the East Barnet Festival for another well-run and joyful event. We’re already looking forward to next year!
Supporting organisations with Grants and Funding Applications
Marlon from Shynne contacted Inclusion Barnet in February to explore available grant funding options for his organisation’s needs.
Following a brief discussion, we identified the National Lottery as the most suitable funding source.
Approximately six weeks later, Shynne was awarded £20,000 from the National Lottery to support their gaming project for individuals with ADHD and ASD.
Ciaran volunteers for The Loop at Grahame Park: a charity project that refurbishes unwanted furniture and resells it at an affordable price in the local community.
“I was working at the old library, and Doug (The Loop workshop manager) came over to ask for some help. I started doing 2-3 days a week and it just grew from there. At the time, I just wanted to help the team out with some IT things as I have some experience in that work, but it changed pretty quickly, and I started helping out all over.
I really enjoy the environment the team creates here. It’s always very positive because we’re trying to help the local residents. I’ve learnt a lot from the team, especially from Ozzie about deliveries and how to communicate with customers.
Carol and Doug have also taught me bits and pieces about furniture and upholstery that I never thought I’d learn about. I’m between jobs, so it helps me keep busy and feel motivated each day.”
